HOMELESS & WOUNDED WARRIORS MN
Providing support, assistance, respect and honor to
our most vulnerable veterans and their families
regardless of where or when they served.
Wounded Warriors-MN exists solely as a 501c3 non-profit Minnesota
charity dedicated to providing financial and emotional support as
well as assistance, respect and honor to our most vulnerable
veterans and their families.
ABOUT HOMELESS & WOUNDED WARRIORS – MN:
Homeless and Wounded Warriors was the brainchild of three veteran motorcyclists in 2005 who wished to do nothing more than help homeless veterans living on the street achieve adequate housing with supportive services. In our first year we raised $2210.00, which, in its entirety, was donated to the St. Cloud VA homeless veterans program. We held our first ever motorcycle ride for homeless veterans in August 2005.
We remain an all volunteer 501c3 organization with no paid employees and very minimal administrative expenses so that over 90% of the funds we raise truly goes to Minnesota veterans and their families.
OUR SERVICES:
Homeless & Wounded Warriors-MN currently provides an array of services for homeless and needy veterans and their families. Oftentimes warriors who have returned home from combat in various theaters of operation feel alienated and lost. Reintegration is a difficult task as these people have changed due to their wartime experiences. Veterans are deeply affected as are their families. Sometimes intervention is needed and we have pledged to be there as both supporters and advocates. Homeless & Wounded Warriors-MN continues to explore other opportunities for networking with State and Federal agencies, and public or private enterprises to assist us in creating a social safety net for veterans to depend on.
Emergency Financial Assistance
HWW-MN’s paramount goal is preventing housing insecurity and homelessness. To address these concerns, HWW-MN provides short-term emergency financial assistance to veterans and current/former service members. Basic needs we meet in emergencies include mortgage/rent payments, utility payments, vehicle payments, accessible dwelling modifications for disabled veterans, and more. In certain circumstances, we provide emergency financial assistance for the families of veterans and current/former service members.
Veteran Benefits Advocacy
HWW-MN works with local County Veterans Service Officers throughout the state to connect veterans with benefits they earned while serving our country, including healthcare, education programs, disability compensation, and more.
